Disability Support Worker
We require experienced support workers who are enthusiastic to provide exceptional person-centred care and support to people with diverse dual diagnosis to be based at our Murray Bridge, Glenunga and Parkside locations. Other site work may also include Mount Barker and Hahndorf.
Positions are casual. Number of days and hours worked per week are negotiable (min. 2 shifts per week) and may include a combination of day, afternoon and night shifts including weekends and public holidays (as negotiated). Ideally you will have experience:
Working as a Support Worker managing and mediating complex changing behaviours
Supporting people to access a quality life with dignity, respect and social inclusion in the least restrictive environment
Supporting client well-being assisting with household activities and preparing meals and social, recreational and community experiences that enhance quality of life based on support plan goals
Contributing to the daily management of a supported independent living environment
Administering medication treatments and therapies according to prescribed protocols
Assisting to develop, implement, monitor and review a range of client support plans
Documenting accurate and complete records of work activities and client progress notes in accordance with legislative requirements
Developing planned activities in line with departmental policies and guidelines.
Liaising with management, service providers and stakeholders
Ensuring continual duty of care is upheld for clients, self and others

You will be reliable and respectful, exercise effective decision-making and problem-solving skills, lead by example and deliver on promises.
Applicants must have evidence of their Right to Work in Australia, a Current National Police Check, DCSI Clearance (Child Related), First Aid Certificate and a Full Unrestricted Driver’s License.
Certificate III in Individual Support Disability would be highly advantageous or you will need to be committed to obtain the Certificate within 12 months of commencement.
